We have a genetic blueprint and there does appear to be a species-appropriate diet for humans. What can we take from these ancestral narratives about what that diet might be? If you look at indigenous groups today, they eat animal meat, animal organs, and seasonal fruit but plants as fall back foods for survival in times of scarcity. That's completely different from the non-supportive narratives that we've been told today about red meat. There's no real evidence that red meat is bad for us and why would it be? Why would these animal meat and organs that we have been eating for our entire evolution as hominoids be bad for us? That's completely evolutionarily inconsistent.  - Dr. Paul Saladino

ION*BiomeION*Gut Health supports the body’s production of beneficial enzymes through redox signaling (cellular communication).

Those beneficial enzymes support the tight junctions (the seals between cells) in our gut lining – the barrier protecting us from toxic substances like glyphosate and gluten while allowing the entry of beneficial nutrients.

Keeping Your Gut Healthy

It’s a critical barrier to keep strong so that a vibrant microbiome can flourish. Good health depends entirely on gut health because a lot more than digestion happens in the gut. It’s also where proper immune system function begins and the majority of our neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, are created.

Say yes to ION*Gut Health and you are saying yes to optimal gut-brain connectivity and feel-good transmissions, protection from the toxins we face every day in our air, water, and food, immune function, digestive wellness, and supported gluten tolerance.

[1:23:00] How To Begin Your Carnivore Diet

Power Quotes From The Show

How Will You Use Food To Embody Health?

"We as humans really need to make an intentional choice about what our highest quality of life is and then we can live into that however we decide to embody it. If someone listening to this really believes that their highest quality of life is feeling good, thinking clearly, good body composition, good libido, muscle tone, good sleep, emotional stability, then we need to make choices that support that. Those choices may not always be the same entertainment choices in regards to food that we're used to making. It’s up to us to decide what we want out of this life. What do you want out of this health? Are you going to use food as entertainment, to deal with stress, to get you through moments where you’re bored or uncomfortable or anxious, or are you going to try and use food to embody, create, and manifest this highest level of health that you can in your body?" - Dr. Paul Saladino

The Myths About Meat & Plants

“Red meat and organs, eating ‘nose to tail,’ is something that’s been a part of the human diet for millions of years. It has shaped us as humans, it’s a central part of who we are, and if we don’t do that, we will not obtain optimal health. Eating those foods, well-raised, is integral to our optimal health as humans. It’s always been part of our evolutionary blueprint. Plants do exist on a toxicity spectrum and if we’re struggling, I want to give people tools to understand which ones are the most toxic, least toxic, and then how to leverage that so that they can find their optimal health and solve that quality of life equation for the best answer for them.” - Dr. Paul Saladino

Healing The Gut-Brain Connection

"A lot of our mental environment is determined by our biology. I've worked with a lot of people with psychiatric issues and a lot of these underlying issues whether it's anxiety, depression, etc. they're based on some degree of neuroinflammation. There is some irritation, some activation of the immune system in the brain and that can absolutely be connected with issues in the gut. If we have problems, if we have irritants to the gut caused by plant toxins, inadequate nutrients, or excess linoleic acid that can be transmitted to the brain through the immune system.Changing our diet and focusing on eating nose to tail seems complicated because we're undoing our conditioning in 2020 but it's not necessarily complicated from an evolutionary perspective. If we can understand and return to what the natural state is for humans, we can heal not just the body but the gut-brain connection as well." - Dr. Paul Saladino
